Hi, I’m homeschooling our kids and fondly remember being asked to pull out our campfire notebooks for spelling practice at school and am now looking to share this memory with my kids. I grew up in Riverview and now live in Hillsborough and after searching the whole internet for such a thing I’m now realizing that I never actually had a “campfire notebook” at all but a heritage book. I always wondered why there was no campfire in the picture.. duh! Anyways, it is so interesting to me that I’ve come accross your page because my dad grew up in Blackville. Perhaps the use of this notebook is more local to NB and more engrained that I ever imagined. Now we have a little history discovery to share with the kids too.
