The Latest News…
This is a notice to inform all village residents of some local clubs and committees which will be holding meetings in the near future. Each of these clubs and committees are holding public meetings to build local interest in aspects of recreation and wellness in the community.
On Tuesday, August 21, 2012, the Cross Country Ski Club will be holding an open public meeting for all wishing to attend. At this meeting, topics of discussion will include club growth and expansion, as well as the possibility of providing access to the cross country ski trail within village limits, more specifically from Blackville School. The ski club currently has both financial and equipment resources in conjunction with Blackville School, and the club feels providing access to the trails from the school is a great way to offer another recreational resource to village residents. For those wishing to attend this meeting, the club is looking for as much local interest and support as possible, and would be pleased to see you at the meeting, which will be held at the Blackville Municipal Office on August 21 at 7:00pm.
This year the Village of Blackville, in conjunction with the Blackville Days Committee, launched our attempt at the first annual “Blackville Days” event. The existing committee feels the event was a great success, but is looking to expand. The Blackville Days Committee is an open public committee and welcome anybody with an interest in providing input to the committee regarding how to grow and build on this annual event. An open meeting will be held for any who are interested in attending at the Blackville Municipal Office on September 10, 2012 at 7:00 pm.
The Mayor and Council of the Village of Blackville are ever-aware of the needs and wishes of this community. We feel it is important now more than ever to offer as many opportunities for celebration and social interaction as possible. We feel that it is important to celebrate in our community whenever the occasion presents itself. That being said, we wish to organize a new committee to plan an event to ring in the New Year right here in our community. The event would help us celebrate another successful year, as well as look ahead to what we feel will be another promising year for this village. An open public meeting will be held, in conjunction with the Blackville Day’s Committee on September 10, 2012 at the Blackville Municipal Office at 7:00 pm for anybody who would like to be involved with the planning of this year’s New Years Eve Celebrations.
We wish to offer our sincere thanks to all residents of this village for your continued support of local causes, events and committees. Without you, our attempts to grow the moral and prosperity of this village would simply not be possible. Remember always that we are a community famous for our river, but remembered for our people.
Kindest Regards,
Mayor and Council of the Village of Blackville
